"Official Score Book Ryuichi SAKAMOTO / 04" is a reprint edition of an official music score collection which was published in 2005.
Original edition has been out of stock for a long time and many fans have expressed their expectations for its re-release. Therefore, not only the contents, but the design has reproduced as faithfully as possible to the original one.
The source of this music collection, "Official Score Book Ryuichi SAKAMOTO /04 Reprint Edition", is based on his self covered album, "/04" (released on 2004), that has focused on his piano performance.
This music score collection contains total of 13 songs and here is the list of the 13 songs.

・"Asience", known for a commercial song (The score is in different arrangement comparing to the album. "Asience - slow piano" version)
・Yamazaki 2002", a commercial song.
・"+33" overdub with 8 piano.
・"Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence" theme song from the movie, "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence".
・"Rain", overdub with 4 piano in the album however, it is rearranged for 2 piano.
・"Perspective", lyrics are printed for the piano arrangement.
・"Undercooled", arranged for piano solo.
・"Riot in Lagos", with 8 piano and prepared piano.
・"Theme for Roningai" from the song of the play, "Roningai". (The score is printed in "Theme for Roningai - pf" version)
・"Tamago 2004", written for Faye Dunaway (The score is in "Tamago 2004 - pf")
・"Bibo no Aozora", trio composition of violin, cello, and piano.・
・"Seven Samurai - ending theme" (the score is printed for piano solo, "Seven Samurai - ending theme pf") is written for "SEVEN SAMURAI 20XX", game software for PlayStation 2.・
・"Dear Liz", known for a commercial song.

One of the major feature of this music score collection is that Ryuichi Sakamoto himself provides commentary on the songs and tips on how to perform them, and his long interview is also included.
The content is going deep into the aspects of music theory and it is making the score extremely valuable.
In addition, this original official score book is created deeply involved by Ryuichi SAKAMOTO himself with the selection of paper and design, and the art director is Hideki NAKAJAMA (NAKAJIMA DESIGN), who has worked on Ryuichi SAKAMOTO's album designs.
Choosing the paper with the color that is easy on the eyes, and when you look closely, you can see the special printing technique such as, "smudge" and "blur". The finish of this score is one that has been carefully crafted down to the smallest details.
The reprint edition retains these details, but also comes with FSC certification, with the aim of protecting forests. This is, of course, relate to the idea of Ryuichi SAKAMOTO himself, who founded the forest conservation organization "more trees". Therefore, please be aware that some parts, such as the papers maybe different from the original one.

Album, "/04" is not only the piano work collection, but the collection of piano arrangements with full of ambitious creativity.
